Since we will be going on our second plane ride with Victoria, I have more knowledge on what she needs and won’t need. The first time around I packed a little bit too excessive, even though they say it’s better to be over prepared then under packed, I was wayyyyy too overpacked that her diaper bag was too heavy.
We will be heading to NYC, two hour plane ride, on Saturday and wanted to share what I’ll be packing for her ! Hopefully this can help you mommies who will be flying your littlest.
(bag packed for a soon to be one year old)
• two baby bottles ( holds 9oz )
• three pre made formula
• sippy cup
• Dr. Browns bottle wipes
• Desitin cream
• pack of pampers sensitive wipes
• five diapers
• nose tissues
• child rubber spoon
• face towels
• her favorite toys
• changing mat
• extra pants, and shirt
• hand sanitizer
• security blanket ( won’t sleep without )
• fluffy blanket
To some people this might not be enough, to others it might be too much. But it’s just enough for my little girl.
tell me in the comments some of your littles must haves when traveling ?
Everyday I love you more than I did the day before. I can’t image how I could possibly love you more than I do but somehow everyday I manage it. I can’t wait for tomorrow to love you more again.
There are so many things happening towards the end of the year my mind doesn’t know which thing to stress about first. Tomorrow I have to run errands, and shop for some cold weather appropriate clothing for V since we leave to nyc on Saturday. But before that is Halloween, I have so much packing to do, I don’t even plan on dressing up this year. Which actually makes me sad to be honest. I’ve always loved Halloween, it’s probably my favorite holiday. There’s just too many things I need to get done that night I prefer to just be in comfortable clothes.
New York should be loads of fun, even though V is still too small I know she’ll enjoy being around her family in a different environment. Another reason I love being in ny is hearing all the stores my boyfriend tells me of his childhood. It brings such a big grin on his face telling me about his favorite pizza joints, or stories of him in high school. Seeing him back in his ‘comfort zone’ melts my heart, almost as I’m seeing the little boy inside him. He’s such a happy soul around his cousins and aunts and uncles. I love to sit back and just watch him. (Like a creep)
After our little vacation, which ends the 9th, we’ll be coming home to even M O R E errands. Lots of last minute prepping for my munchkins big birthday celebration. Just thinking about how overjoyed my little girl will be, makes me tear up. We will have a super long day, to follow up with her year doctors appointment. Which also lands on my bffs birthday as well (like I said busy busy month). My mother in law will also be here for my daughters birthday which means will have little adventures here and there while she’s in town.
My mind is running around and around, it feels like the days don’t have enough hours to accomplish what I need. Plus being a mother makes things even tougher. V is trying to walk and run at the same time, so I have to have a microscope on her every second of the day. The moment she takes a nap, I sit down for a second, take a breath, and then rush to do whatever it is I can do be for she screams ‘Mommmyyyy’. <— yes she calls me mommy now.
A beautiful day to be outside.
One day I found out I was pregnant, and the next I’m planning her first birthday party.
It’s an unbelievable feeling to see a little person develop into a big girl so quickly. As much as I don’t want to accept that she’ll never be this tiny again, I have to. And I want to be able to remember how small she once was.
As she was taking her mid day nap, the perfect lighting was shining through the window, so I pulled my camera out and began shooting. At first I wasn’t sure exactly what it was I was going for. Then I started to focus on just her toes, showing how tiny each little piggy was, and focused to the tiniest of details. Loving how the shots were coming out, I moved onto her hands, the way her muscles were relaxed and so peaceful.
From there on out, I started to grasp every small detail, rather then looking at a whole picture. I wanted every small piece expressed. From her eyelashes ( which I’m completely obsessed with ) to her nose, mouth, and ear. One picture I was trying to get but wasn’t able to was her belly button ! But I loved the out come.
After reviewing all the photos I captured, I decided to make them black & white and putting them in a collage to be able to frame. My heart melts knowing she’s growing so quickly right before my eyes.
Today I decided to allow Victoria to feed her self. Which went remarkably well for an 11 month old. For dinner I shredded grill chicken, guacamole, and yellow rice and placed it in a round plastic bowl. I pulled her high chair toward the dinner table, and began by placing her spoon in her hand. I was a little unsure about which hand is her dominant so I went for her right hand. I demonstrated how to pick up food with her spoon by holding the arm that held the spoon, and after two tries she began to get the flow of things. It took about 45 minutes to finish but it was quiet remarkable to see my little girl learning so quickly. After she placed the food in her mouth she let her spoon rest in her mouth forgetting she actually needs to scoop the plate for food to reach her mouth. I’d remind her and then she was back on track. Towards the end when the food was becoming more difficult to pick up she decided to throw the spoon and go right in with both hands. I found it very amusing, even when she tried to throw chicken at me. Once she finished, she clapped and I could tell she was very proud of herself. And so was I.
After having the shoot with my sister and her family, I decided to take some quick shots of V since she came along for the ride with me.
Most Sunday’s for my honey, V, and I and spent inside at homey relaxing with some friends reruns. But it was a different kind of Sunday.
After taking these quick photos we headed over to our family Tex-Mex spot, ‘Tijuana Flats’. I can eat anything Mexican, and any time ! Being able to spend some family time, especially with my daughter and nephews, on Sunday was perfect.
